Story: Count Arnheim, Governor of Pressburg, setting forth to hunt with his foppish nephew, Florestein, takes farewell of his little daughter, Arline. When they are gone, Thaddeus, a Polish noble in exile from his country, arrives in flight from his foes. To hide himself, he joins a band of gypsies headed by Devilshoof. He rescues Arline from a wild beast, and in gratitude Count Arnheim invites him to a feast, where, however, his identity is discovered, and he is threatened with prison. Thaddeus escapes with the aid of Devilshoof, who carries off Arline as a hostage. <1h>Language:EnglishNotes:Genre:MUSICDetailed holdings information: -
