Hersenhoren, Samuel, 1908-1982 : Conductor and violinist born in Toronto, Ontario, Samuel Hersenhoren was a member of various orchestras, including that of Geoffrey Waddington, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the CBC Symphony Orchestra. He founded the New World Chamber Orchestra, which he conducted (1932-40) and reformed and expanded in 1947 (it was active until 1951) for a CBC summer program series. He also founded the Canadian Artists Trio in 1945. He was the conductor and musical director of many radio and television programs.
