After transfer to the Moving Images and Sound Archives, the photographs of the Gideon Bachmann collection were integrated into an extensive, alphabetically-arranged-by-title file of movie images. This file was subsequently given VSA accession no. 1996-135 (q.v.) As noted there, it has become impossible to determine exactly which images came from the Bachmann collection, and which were acquired from other sources..

The original production companies are usually noted on the face or the reverse of the prints, and copyright could probably be traced to the current owner by following through corporate changes. SUCH TRACING IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES..
