Series consists of audio recordings, interview transcripts, research, clippings, notes, drafts, manuscripts, correspondence, and photographs concerning the research, writing, and publication of The Politics of The Imagination: A Life of F.R. Scott as well as other works that focus on F.R. Scott such as F.R. Scott: A Canadian in the 20's and On F.R. Scott: Essays on His Contributions to Law, Literature, and Politics. It is reflective of the evolving relationship between Frank Scott, Marian Dale Scott, and Sandra and the intricacies of writing an authorized biography. The series spans from the 1970's to the early 2000's after the publication of "F.R. Scott: Nothing by Halves" for the Journal of Canadian Studies. Due to Scott's involvement in Canadian politics, teaching of constitutional law at McGill University, and modernist poetry, a great deal of the material includes information on Canadian political, legal, and literary figures. This series also includes reference material given to Sandra by F.R. Scott to aid her research, often with annotations by Scott. As The Politics of The Imagination was published after the death of F.R. Scott, the series also demonstrates heavy involvement from Marian Dale Scott as well as Leon Edel leading up to the time of publication.
