This sub-series consists of plans relating mostly to the Canadian Northern Railway. These are called main line books, and contain detailed cartographic drawings of locations along various rail lines owned and operated by the Canadian Northern Railway. It appears that both the Canadian National Railways Real Estate Department and the Department of Research and Development used these books as reference tools after Canadian Northern became part of Canadian National in 1919.

Custodial history:

Finding aid 30-84 contains item level descriptions of the plans, and these descriptions were created before the material was transferred to the map division (also known as VSA). The material was then given item numbers under the accession number RG30M 923034. An updated finding aid will be added in due course.
