The collection consists of approximately two hundred employee timetable books relating to the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) and Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CPR), and a few from other railroads, such as the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway. The date range for the material is 1961-1980, and the timetables are primarily (but not exclusively) related to Western Canada.

Volumes 1 and 4 contain CPR, Quebec Central, Central Vermont, and Toronto, Hamilton, and Buffalo Railway Timetables.

Volumes 2-3 and 5 contain CN (and Grand Trunk Western) timetables.

Rushton, John : Former CN employee John Rushton (1937-2022) originally collected the timetables. Rushton joined CN in 1974 as an operator, later known as Rail Traffic Controller, and was an avid collector of railway memorabilia.
