Fonds consists of photographs which document early rural settlement in Saskatchewan township of Plunkett, specifically the establishment of the Seabrook family farm. Subjects include: activities at the Seabrook farm including harvesting, animals, views of the farm, visitors; photos in and around Plunkett: road building, residents, automobiles, railway wrecks, farmers and their families; Portrait of Elizabeth Thompson Seabrook and a portrait of her friend Frances Noble while in service with the Marquis of Zetland; Portrait of George B. Seabrook taken before emigration to Canada (ca. 1906); photo of decorated butter cake that won first prize in Richmond Flower Show, 1907; view of the Seabrook farm, windmill and water pump; men stacking sweet cloves at Westmoreland Park stock Farm; roadbuilding in Usborne Rural Municipality by George B Seabrook, local farmer and one of the road builders. View of gravel gathering, loading and spreading with horse-drawn equipment.

Frances M Bentley : The Seabrook family resided in the Usborne Rural Municipality of Plunkett, Saskatchewan. George B. Seabrook and Elizabeth Thompson both emigrated from Europe (Elizabeth from England) and had two children, Frances and Gordon. The Seabrook family had a farm in Township 33, the "Wesmoreland Park Stock Farm." The farm was of a significant size, as they were able to have hired hands. Registered stock, grains and grasses were produced.

Custodial history:

Photographs were acquired from the daughter of George B. Seabrook, Frances M Bentley, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. One photograph album was acquired from farm hired hand Joseph Edwin Wilson.
