The series consists of Joan McCurdy's entertaining lists binder which included guest lists for parties and other social events, invitations, thank-you letters, and other records of her arrangements for entertaining. Much of her entertaining arose from her husband Hollis T. McCurdy's work with CFRB radio in Toronto and his position as president of Standard Broadcasting Corporation. As such, the events often involved the owners of Standad Broadcasting, Conrad Black and Montegu Black, individuals like Major-General A. Bruce Matthews, and other influential members of the Toronto business community.
