Fonds consists of photographs taken along the Grand Trunk Railway from Quebec to British Columbia, ca. 1910. The photographer is unknown. The album is entitled "Photographs/Grand Truck System/Canada" and contains photographs of Grand Truck terminals in Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Cobourg, Toronto, Hamilton, Niagara Peninsula, Port Colborne, Welland Canal, Niagara Falls, Muskoka Lakes, Algonquin Park, Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Wainwright, Edmonton, Jasper Park, Fraser River, Mount Robson Park, Nechako Valley, Bulkley Valley, Prince Rupert, and Victoria. Of particular interest are views of vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula.

The album seems to have been compiled by an individual on a cross-country tour on the Grand Trunk Railway, as the photographs have been selected to represent specific locations and interests, and some of the photographs seem to have been printed on unusual papers.

Custodial history:

Acquired from John Coles of the Astrolabe Gallery in 1987. Coles in turn seems to have acquired the album after it was disposed of by the Stoke-on-Trent Library, where it formed a part of a special collection.
