Using time-lapse and micro-photography, this film pictures the anisothermal low pressure oxidation of 3% nickel steel with .29% carbon content between 20°C and 900°C. 1. Documentation on the film cannister indicates this is the third of a series of films made by the ORF for Inco Limited.~2. To be projected at 18 frames per second.~3. Title cards give ORF Film no. (A6-4-1N351) and test melt number.~4. Kodak stock edge code suggests 1921, 1941 or 1961 as the year of the stock. The 18 frames per second projection speed suggests the image was shot prior to the sound era, with the sound track added later. But the magnetic stripe places production of this print at 1954 or later, the year magnetic stripe technology for 16mm film was introduced.
