Recording of a conversation between Joan Peebles and her niece, Priscilla Galloway, in New Westminster, BC on July 7 and/or 8 1983. On side 1 they discuss, among other things, Peebles taking a driving test in her 70s, Esther Poulson's visit, Galloway's children and grandchildren, Paulson's connection to Allon Peebles and her work with the Department of Health and Welfare, rent increases in Peebles' building, and wildflower painting. On side 2 they discuss, among other things, Peebles' father Peter, an old boyfriend, investing, the Chautauqua centennial (Peebles didn't attend because she didn't want them to see that she was no longer a young and glamorous singer), Mrs. Edison's request for her to sing a program entirely about birds and trees, the first production that Peebles was in at the Provincial Normal School in Vancouver (Tennyson's Princess'), Allon Peebles, and the death of Peebles husband (Norman Oberg). <1h 33m 02s>

1. Physical extent: 1 audio cassette.~2. According to a note from Galloway, Peebles permitted her to record stories about her life, but only if the recording device was out of sight. The distant or hidden placement of the tape recorder has therefore resulted in audio that is mainly of poor quality.
