Sound recording consisting of a live concert performance at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, ON, August 26, 1972. Each reel comprises one half of the concert and the programme for each half is pasted to the back of the reel box. Of particular note are dialogues and introductions Leslie Huggett provides between pieces as they demonstrate the humour and rapport the family had with their audiences.

The programme includes the following. First half: Jacob Obrecht - Paduana; Johannes Ockeghem - Prenez sur moi; Hayne van Ghizeghem - De tous biens pliene; Herman Schein - Meskin es hu; Thomas Bateson - Love is the fire; John Dowland - What if a Day, Mrs. Winter'S Jump; Greensleeves; John Dowland - Fortunre my Foe, La Roque; John Weelkes - Late in my rash accounting (madrigal); My Lord of Oxenford's Maske; Paduane, Galliarda and Taz. The second half features poems and folk songs written and/or arranged by the Huggett Family and includes Gypsy, Narcissus, Scarborough Fair, Picadilly, Miami Beach, Sandpiper, Trees, Leaving Home, Life Style, and Greensleeves. Two pieces identified on the programme for the first half are missing on the reel: Ballo Del Fiore and Basse Danse.

It sounds as if the microphone is placed at some distance from Leslie Huggett when he speaks and this makes his dialogue almost inaudible in places.

The Huggett Family's concerts were often presented as this recording: one half dedicated to Renaissance music, the other half dedicated to folk and pop music performed and arranged by the family themselves. In the present case, many of the songs in the second half appear on the family's first studio album released in 1973.
