Beginning with a description of the large booking circuit Pantages. Burgess moves to shows done in Ottawa early in his career and tells a few anecdotes about students at the University of Ottawa. Next, the cleaner atmosphere of old-time Burlesque and Vaudeville (as compared to post First World War Burlesque and Vaudeville) are described, and the effect of the talking pictures and the stock market crash of 1929 on these theatres is detailed.
