He entered Canada under an assumed name, and was consequently arrested and detained, awaiting deportation or political amnesty. It was believed that if Pagan was deported he would be persecuted by the police or right wing movements. His lawyer Clayton Ruby is interviewed as well as some of the defense witnesses.
