January to March are in England: bell ringing and visiting Oxford and Cambridge, including stopping in with George Whalley. Visits to Ottawa, family visits and mention of publication of Greenlanders, visits from Eli (Mandel), mentions of other writers (Birney, Hood, Laurence, Avison, Mike and Kim Ondaatje, Blissett...), the Pratt Symposium (May), lunch with Gustafson, Scott, Jones, Glassco, Metcalf, (Rosenblatt?), and a discussion of the 'Poets' Dining Club', The Great Canadian Poetry Weekend (near Collingwood in June) involving many poets including PK Page, Brewster, The Four Horsemen, Ondaatje, etc.
