File consists of the products of an oral history interview conducted with the Rt. Honourable Stephen Harper in 2021. The subjects discussed are a summit on Maternal Newborn Child Health initiative (MNCH) held in Toronto from May 28-30, 2014; interactions with celebrities; the National Day of Honour to mark the end of the Afghan Mission on May 9 (reflections on that mission); emergence of new ISIS terrorist threat (Iraq, Syria, Northern Mali); the September 2014 NATO Summit in Wales (clash with Turkey's Erdogan, decision to get involved with training the Iraqi and Kurdish armies); the discovery of HMS Erebus from the Franklin Expedition; review of Northern Tour accomplishments; concerns for the North and Inuit youth; the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; and sovereignty investments in the North. File includes audio and audiovisual versions of the interview, as well as a transcription produced by Durham Reporting & Mediation Services.
