The subjects discussed are Israel / Hamas; interactions with the Department of Foreign Affairs; the summit circuit (G7/G8, G20, APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), North American Leaders Summit, UN, NATO, Commonwealth, Francophonie, Organization of American States, Nuclear Security Summit, Canada European Union Summit); travel; bilateral visits; war in the Middle East; evacuating Canadians from Lebanon; defending Israel; addresses to Parliament (including President Hamid Karzai, President Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister John Howard); meeting former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; first speech at the United Nations; trip to Mexico City; and the APEC summit in Hanoi (issue with China over Uighur Huseyin can Celil).
