Collection search - Theatre Canada (Canadian Amateur and Educational Theatre Association) [textual record]

In the late 1980s, three national community theatre forums were held with representation from provincial community theatre organizations and the NMTA tried to establish a single voice for Canadian community theatres. In 1994 provincial organizations representing youth and educational theatre joined the process. Two years later, a new national theatre organization was established: the Canadian Amateur and Educational Theatre Association, operating as Theatre Canada. The emergence of a new Theatre Canada served as Canada's National Centre for the International Amateur Theatre Association (IATA) and the International Drama Educator's Association (IDEA). However it seems to have ceased its activities in around 2004.
