The series consists in Gustave Gingras' archives acquired in his first donation in 1979. It contains correspondence, subject files, speeches, addresses, publications, scrapbooks (containing press clippings and photographs) and other documents relating chiefly to Dr. Gingras' work in the field of rehabilitation medicine. It contains also personal documents of Gustave Gingras such as diaries, diplomas,awards and the manuscript of his autobiography "Combat pour la survie" (and its English translation "Feet was I to the lame"). It contains finally documents related to his involvement in several international missions, such as the foundation of a rehabilitation center in Vietnam in 1965, his assistance in Morrocco in 1959-60 and his participations in different projects for the United Nations Organisation and the Canadian International Development Agency.
