This document is a reproduction of a painting by artist Bernard Poulin that was made on the occasion of the 1998 Canadian Special Olympics Summer games in Sudbury, Ontario. The painting depicts a young boy who runs and wears a racing bib that bears the number 1. In the background, you can see three men running, a red maple leaf and the words "Special Olympics, Jeux olympiques spéciaux" which form a red circle around the three men.

Conservation:

This document has been unframed in 2010. A small metal plate was affixed to the frame of the work. It says: "Thank you for your support / The Honourable Paul Martin". It also shows a golf ball on which are inscribed the words: "Ontario Special Olympics"and a yellow ribbon on which is written: "2002 neighbourhood golf classic". It was removed from the frame and is now preserved with the artwork.
