Series contains files pertaining to Allan Rock's portfolio as Minister of Industry and Innovation (Jan. 2002 - Dec. 2003). It was during that period that he introduced Canada's Innovation Strategy aimed at spurring the nation's productivity and competitiveness. He was also responsible for Canada's three granting councils and the creation of legislation to promote research in the social sciences and humanities. The series' records consist of, but are not limited to, the minister's correspondence, memoranda, ministerial records, trip itineraries, transcripts, news releases, scheduling documentation, news clippings, reference files, draft letters, briefing notes, handwritten notes from the Minister and his executive assistants, and speeches.

Series consists of six sub-series: Cabinet Records, Travel, Transcripts, News Releases, Minister's Correspondence and Minister's Office General Files.
