Horn-Miller, Waneek, 1975- : Waneek (b. November 30, 1975 - ) is a member of the Bear Clan in Kahnawake.

As a member of the women's national water polo team, she won a gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. She then served as co-captain of the first Canadian women's Olympic water polo team that finished fifth at Sydney 2000. In 2000, she was awarded a National Aboriginal Achievement Award in the Youth category. During the lead-up to the 2000 Olympic Games, Horn-Miller appeared on the cover of TIME magazine. She went on to help Canada win a bronze medal at the 2001 FINA World Championships. In 2015, Horn-Miller was named one of Canada's most influential women in sport by the Canadian Association for Advancement of Women and Sport. In 2019, she was named as an inductee into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. She is the first Mohawk woman to compete in the Olympic Games.

She currently works and travels throughout the Indigenous world as a sports commentator (CBC, APTN), and as a passionate advocate for sport, fitness and wellness, she has worked with the Assembly of First Nations on their IndigenACTION initiative. She has also travelled extensively throughout North America as a motivational speaker, speaking of her journey from being stabbed during the Oka Crisis to the Olympic Games. She considers herself "a piece of living history." As one of Canada's few Indigenous Olympians, Waneek has used her passion and experiences in sport to influence Indigenous and non-Indigenous leadership towards making sport and wellness a community building priority. Waneek is currently working as the brand ambassador for the aboriginal forward company Manitobah Mukluks, and is the director of the Storyboot Project, a program that supports traditional artists by selling their work worldwide, and the running of Storyboot Schools, where the art of mukluks and moccasin making is passed on to the next generation.
