Horn, Ojistoh, Dr : Dr. Ojistoh (Kahnawahere) Horn (Ojistoh means "Star") is a member of the Bear Clan of Kahnawake. She left Kahnawake when she was five, and went to school in Ottawa. She moved back to Kahnawake after the Oka Crisis. She did an undergraduate degree (BSc) in Anatomy and Cell Biology as well as a Master (MSc) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University and then worked as a researcher for the Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Project. She interrupted this work to go to medical school at the University of British Columbia, then completed McGill's Family Medicine residency program with a fellowship in Maternal and Child Health. Her auntie, Katsi Cook practices and teaches midwifery, and has a strong knowledge of Mohawk and Iroquois birthing traditions. Dr. Horn learned her perspective and how these practices can be incorporated so that she may provide better, more culturally appropriate pre-conceptual, prenatal, birthing, and postnatal care to the families of her community.

In 2015, after working as a family physician in Kahnawake Dr. Ojistoh Horn joined the medical clinic team in Kana:takon and also provides specialty clinics in Tsi Snaihne held at the Iakhihsohtha Home for the Elderly. She continues to teach medical students and family medicine residents from McGill University and the University of Ottawa. Using culturally based approaches, she is working towards improving the delivery of health care to Indigenous communities.
