Collection search - Project Management records of the Distant Early Warning Line Clean Up (DLCU) Environmental Remediation [multiple media]

This accession consists of records maintained by the Directorate of Contaminated Sites (DCS). The records are arranged according to the DND/CF subject file classification system. The accession includes the project files of the DEW Line Clean Up project (DCLU), the major site remediation program for decommissioned DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line sites across Northern Canada. Project files for each DEW Line site were created by a Project Management Office composed of both Department of National Defence and Defence Construction Canada staff. Records include initial planning records beginning in the 1980s, site surveying and assessment files, contracting, reporting and monitoring connected with the remediation work, stakeholder engagement, community involvement, including the consultation and employment of local Inuit community members, and project close-out records. Project records also contain an extensive photographic and cartographic component.
