General note:

Accession consists of records created or maintained by the Office of Export Programs and Services of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC). Reporting to the ADM of Export Development, the Office was responsible for contributing to export development in Canadian industry and for managing participation in trade fairs and missions.

Subjects cover the planning and formulation of ITC export programs and initiatives. This primarily involves the Promotional Projects Program (PPP), which planned and provided support for Canadian participation in fairs and missions, or the Program for Export Market Development (PEMD), which provided financial support to companies intending to develop export operations. Documents pertain to annual planning, program review, publicity/promotion, and coordination with ITC's International Bureaux and Regional Offices.
