Heritage reps east of Kazan. Unedited footage. Interview by Michael Haqpi of Ellen Lee of Parks Canada onsite near the Kazan River. She is responsible for Aboriginal heritage programs and the creation of new national historic sites. She discusses the tour of the area she took with Peter Tapatai earlier in the day, and her general familiarity with the area. Michael Haqpi asks about how she will respect and understand the needs of elder non-English speaking Inuit. He then interviews another man named Michael, in Inuktitut. Next, a woman kneeling on a hillside above some tents at the edge of a body of water sings a song, then speaks. The remainder of the tape follows three young people, perhaps summer students, as they make observations of the area. Two of them may be named Roy and Travis. They write notes and take photos. Near the end of the tape is footage of a loud machine on a tripod, which appears to be some sort of measuring device, then more footage of the tents near the water. Finally, there is some aerial footage of the landscape. <62mn>
