Can you think of a fruit that has its seeds on the outside? If you guessed strawberries you were right. Strawberries are in good supply at this time of year so enjoy them while you can. The traditional uses for strawberries are well known but one idea which seems to be gaining popularity is to serve fresh whole strawberries with a dairy dip. Dairy dips are those made with such products as cottage and cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. In themselves these can be a delicious accompaniment to fresh strawberries or they can be combined with other ingredients into such dips as a "Creamy Nut Dip". This combines a half pint of dairy sour cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Now the fun begins. Pick up the fresh strawberries by the stem end or spear them with small cocktail forks or toothpicks and dip the strawberries into the cream dip and then into a bowl of chopped salted peanuts. Fresh strawberries can also be served with a cream cheese dip or a honey orange dip.
