Original sales remark reads: "Successor Band is Amalgamated Rainy River Band which later became Rainy River Band. The Present is Paskonkin #15. See also Sale 225, Book 55." Original patent remark reads: "Total Area (Patent): in 1901, 35.05 Acres of Land Was Transferred by Order in Council To the Department of Marine and Fisheries for Lighthouse Purposes, Pursuant To Sec. 35 of the Indian Act. This Was Long Before the 1915 Surrender of the Reserve. in 1929, the Department of Marine and Fisheries Transferred the Land (35.05 Acres) Back To the Dept. of Indian Affairs. This Lighthouse Reserve (35.05 Acres) Was Surrendered in 1921. The Patent Conveys Only 27.85 Acres. This is Probably Explained by the Fact That the Surrender Was for The." Original lot remark reads: " Original Lighthouse Reserve, Part of which Would Appear To Be Underwater and Outside the Boundaries of the Reserve When It Was Surrendered. See Plan T641." Original reservation remark reads: "... Reserving All Gold and Silver which May Be Found To Exist Within, Upon, Or Under Such Land, Together With Full Power To Work the Same, and for this Purpose To Enter Upon, Use and Occupy the Said Land(s) Or As Much Thereof and To Such Extent As May Be Necessary for the Effectual Working and Extracting of the Said Minerals."
