Files in file classification block 30 relate to Federal-Provincial Relations, especially in how these relationships impacted Nova Scotia, for example, in the areas of student loans, grants and Loans from the Ministry of Finance and housing. These records have value in that, unlike typical files on Federal-Provincial conferences, they reflect the nuts-and-bolts of federal-provincial co-operation. After some general files on Maritime and Nova Scotia relations with and expectations of Ottawa, there come files on actual inter-connections between the centre and the provinces. Some of the issues are broad, reflecting political concerns of the day, such as Bilingualism and Biculturalism, and broadcasting, significant issues because of the press of American cultural influence. Most files, however, are files dealing with real programs, and real money from Ottawa to back them. Moreover, the files document Allan J.
