Photographs have been segregated by process and format.

Arranged alphabetically by name of photographer, and chronologically within each photographer's series.

In most cases, the prints have a corresponding negative. However, there may be prints where no corresponding negative exists, or negatives which do not have corresponding prints.

This series includes photographs taken during expeditions carried out by the Eastern Arctic Patrol. Logbooks compiled by the Patrol's chief officers, chief engineers, and mates, as well as notebooks and diaries primarily compiled by Major D.L. McKeand, can be found under the Eastern Arctic Patrol sub-series (R216, MIKAN 138094). Additionally, "Eastern Arctic Patrol Surveys" files (file no. 851-1-12) are included in the Indian and Northern Health Services sub-series (R227, MIKAN 193856). See also the Eastern Arctic patrol manuscript and research notes series (MIKAN 133939), a part of the Gordon Myles fonds (R147, MIKAN 133930). The records document the Eastern Arctic Patrol and the R.M.S. Nascopie, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police postal activities, the Hudson's Bay Company role in Arctic mail, and the various Arctic settlements. The records cover the study period 1917 to 1979 and consist of research notes and a manuscript written and accumulated by Gordon Myles.
