The coding system used here appears to have been replicated in only a limited number of other transfers of Allan J. MacEachen records to Library and Archives Canada. The files in this metre and a half of material were given an alpha-numeric code based on the subject of the file, for example, C-1 for Conflict of Interest files, or M-4 for files on Meetings with Minister. Included in this sub-series are files on the Joint Committee of Cabinet, the National Indian Brotherhood (1977-1978), Memoranda to the Minister, the Native Council of Canada, general files on the 3rd Session of the 30th Parliament, and files on Conflict of Interest and legislative committees and House planning.
