The photographs are arranged both numerically and (roughly) chronologically and depict Canadian Army operations in Italy during the Second World War. General note:

The prints in this album document Canadian army activities and operations in Italy from April 15, 1944 - May 4, 1944. The album features activities and operations around Monte Cassino, Rome, Pontecorvo, Liri Valley, Pignataro, and the Melfa River. Subjects featured in the album include; religious services on board ship, entertainment for the troops, Easter Day Church parade, Allied defensive positions, Snow Haven rest camp, German POWs, and the dedication of a Canadian War memorial and cemetery. The album also documents the advance and combat activities towards the Gustav and Hitler Line.
