General note:

Accession consists of records created or maintained by the Canadian Government Office of Tourism (CGOT) of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC). Reporting directly to the Deputy Minister, the office was responsible for promoting travel both in Canada and abroad.

Subjects include, but are not limited to promotional activities, surveys and studies of the tourism industry, tourism development implementation projects, tourism industry evaluation, the Management Advancement Program (MAP), a historical account of CGOT and its predecessors (dating as early as 1935), committees, and Federal-Provincial conferences.
