File contains drafts of diplomatic cables sent to Department of External Affairs by Ross Campbell between 1967 and 1972 when he was the Canadian Ambassador at NATO. It also includes copies of letters sent by Campbell to important Canadian or foreign individuals (ambassadors, various directors in the Foreign Affairs department, ministers, high-ranking officers). Many letters were sent to Manlio Brosio, Secretary General of NATO. Some subjects addressed are: questions of Cyprus and Malta, USA initiative about Vietnam, sale of military equipment to Portugal, SALT consultations, or President Nixon visit to NATO.
