Series consists of 2.1 m of committee and correspondence files, dating from ca. 1985 - 1988, that later had been maintained by Statistics Canada's System Development Division. The majority of these records appear to have been previously maintained by Martin Podehl, Director of the Informatics Services and Development Division in 1987-1988. Included are committees files dedicated to general informatics systems, research systems, geocartographics, the Microcomputer Service Centre, and much more. The correspondence, dating from 1987-1988, speaks to what was involved with "being electronically plugged in" at Statistics Canada and various issues including but not limited to contracting out. These committee and correspondence files are found in boxes 7-13 of the linked accession.
