Departmental Management Committee of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada : The Departmental Management Committee (DMC) of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) acts as the senior management decision-making body for the department. It is based out of the national headquarters in Ottawa and is chaired by the Deputy Minister. Members of the committee include the Associate Deputy Minister, the Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, Regional Directors General and sector heads at national headquarters.

This committee has four main functions: establishing overall goals, priorities, policies and procedures, promoting integrated management, supporting DFO's matrix management model and finally, establishing and monitoring the department's budget. In fulfilling these functions the DMC is supported by various subcommittees, including the Human Resources subcommittee, the Finance subcommittee and the Evaluation Committee.
