Sub-series documents the writing, editing, and publishing of Thomas King's short stories. It covers both King's individual short stories, and his two collections of short stories: "One Good Story, That One" and "A Short History of Indians in Canada," as well as unpublished and unfinished stories. Sub-series contains typescript and manuscript drafts, proofs, notes, correspondence about publishing, and copies of potential cover art.

General note:

Volumes 123 and 124 contain files of King's early short stories. Each file contains the consecutive versions of a short story and submission and rejection/ acceptance letters from contests and magazines to which he submitted the story. King recorded the submissions and the results on the original file folder.
