General note:

In the 1970s, some Canadian locals of the ICWU were disaffiliated with the international and became the Canadian Chemical Workers' Union (CCWU). In 1980, the CCWU merged with the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers (OCAW) to form the Energy and Chemical Workers Union (ECWU).
