Sub-series consists of an estimated 200 posters, pamphlets and flyers developed for the 2006 census, plus an additional ca. 1.8 m of public communications files and promotional materials for the 1986 census, and one information kit for the 1981 census.

For the 2006 census, the posters, pamphlets and flyers providing information, advice and a contact number for the helpline to the 2006 national census under the tag-line of "Census: Count yourself in! ; Recensement : soyez du nombre." Information is provided in English and French, various First Nations languages (e.g., Cree, Anishnaabenwin), Inuktitut, as well as a variety of non-roman script languages (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Thai, Korean, Arabic).

For the 1986 census, the files address a range of topics, for example strategy for ethnic groups, meeting minutes, and contact lists. Promotional materials for the 1986 census are various, including but not limited to: school packages, videoclips and a sound recording, media information packages, draft and final posters, aboriginal program booklet, brochures, inklings. These files and materials related to the 1986 census were likely maintained by Statistics Canada's Eastern and Northern Ontario regional offices prior to their transfer to Library and Archives Canada.
