Atlas consists of a bound volume of 41 printed Federal Electoral District (F.E.D.) maps that were subsequently hand-annotated with Enumeration Areas by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics for the 1956 Census. The F.E.D. maps had been prepared according to the Representation Act, 1952, and originally printed by the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys in 1953.

The altas features 22 maps for BC, 17 for Alberta, 1 for Yukon, 1 for NWT.

Title is based on the cover pages of the atlases in the sub-sub-series.

Custodial history:

For conservation reasons, the bound atlas originally received from Statistics Canada is scheduled to be unbound and its component maps unfolded in 2019-2020 by Library and Archives Canada.
