Atlas consists of a bound volume of 15 Metropolitan Area (M.A.) maps for Canada. The atlas was prepared by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics for work related to the 1951 Census. Some maps have annotations from subsequent census (1956, 1961).

The maps are for: Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Hamilton, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Québec, Saint Joh, St Johns, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Windsor, and Winnipeg.

Title is based on the cover pages of the atlases in the sub-sub-series.

Custodial history:

For conservation reasons, the bound atlas originally received from Statistics Canada in 2007 is scheduled to be unbound and its component maps unfolded in 2019-2020 by Library and Archives Canada.
