Atlas consists of a bound volume of 37 printed Dominion Electoral District maps (prepared according to the Representation Act, 1947) that were subsequently hand-annotated with Enumeration Areas by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics for work related to the 1951 Census. There are 16 maps for Manitoba, and 21 maps for Saskatchewan.

Custodial history:

For conservation reasons, the bound atlas originally received from Statistics Canada in 2007 was unbound and its component maps unfolded by Library and Archives Canada.
