On trouve un très gros dossier de correspondance portant sur The Tamarack Review et un dossier sur un projet inachevé visant à publier un ouvrage de Graeme Gibson (1987-1988) sur des anecdotes littéraires canadiennes. Se trouve aussi un document dactylographié avec une reliure à anneaux plastique de l'ouvrage à compte d'auteur On Canadian Literature (2005). La série comprend également des articles, critiques et discours dactylographiés par William Toye (y compris son discours de retraite prononcé en 1991, dans lequel il parle de sa carrière), ainsi que des exemplaires de son travail de conception, dont des documents de la Society of Typographic Designers of Canada, un dossier de cartes de Noël d'Oxford University Press et un dossier sur les couvertures de catalogue d'Oxford U. P. conçues ou commandées par M. Toye.
La série comprend des documents sur l'Ordre du Canada et le diplôme honorifique de l'Université Oxford remis à M. Toye. Elle contient aussi des documents sur l'administration des successions littéraires de William Dendy, John Glassco, F. R. Scott et A. J. M. Smith. Il y a aussi un dossier sur l'hommage rendu à Mavis Gallant à Harbourfront en 1993, avec une description non publiée de l'événement rédigée par M. Toye (qui était l'un des participants). La série comprend également de nombreuses cartes reçues par M. Toye à son bureau à l'occasion de sa retraite, en 1991, ainsi qu'un dossier sur la fin de semaine de retrouvailles des employés du Minaki Lodge, où M. Toye a travaillé comme réceptionniste en 1946 et 1947.
La majorité des documents dans le dossier du Tamarack datent de 1972 à 1982 et comprennent un nombre considérable de pièces de correspondance entre M. Toye et ses collègues rédacteurs (Robert Weaver, John Robert Colombo et Janis Rapoport) ainsi que des copies carbone des lettres de M. Toye. On trouve également des listes d'invités et d'autres documents sur la fête marquant la fin de la revue littéraire Tamarack, en 1982. La série comprend des photos, dont certaines trouvées dans un dossier sur les amis de M. Toye, comme des portraits noir et blanc de Murray Adaskin (Marcel Ray, 1952) et de Frances Adaskin (James Abresch, New York) ainsi qu'un cliché de William Kilbourn en Italie (1992). On y trouve aussi des photos personnelles de M. Toye, y compris des clichés pris pendant ses études et des portraits réalisés à l'âge adulte (entre autres par Peggy Todd, Eric Trussler, H. R. Jowett, Geoff Hancock et Christina Hartling) à diverses fins promotionnelles.
Le dossier comprend un portrait de F. R. Scott (Swaine, 1922), un cliché couleur d'A. J. M. Smith et de F. R. Scott dans un cimetière des Cantons de l'Est (195?) ainsi que diverses coupures de journaux datant de 1947 à 1991.
