An Inuk man identified as "Tunu" is smoking a cigarette beside a qamutiik (sled). Next two him, two other people are in discussion. Behind them, on a mound of snow, rest a few sled dogs (qimmiit). Pieces of canvas, wood and a boat motor are lying on the snow. Photograph was taken at Tunu's camp in Igali, a community east of Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut (formerly Northwest Territories).

A komatik (also spelled qamutiik or quamutik) is a traditional Inuit sled.

Dates of creation note:

Gimpel records in his notebook that he travelled to Tunu's camp on April 16, 1964 and spent April 17th there.
