Reford, Mary Elsie Stephen, 1872-1967 : Mary Elsie Stephen (Meighen) Reford (1872-1967), known as Elsie Reford, was an accomplished amateur botanist and horticulturalist.

She was the daughter of Robert Meighen and Elsie Stephen. She married Robert W. Reford (1867-1950) in 1894. They had two sons: Robert Bruce Stephen Reford (1895-1972) and Lewis Eric Reford (1900-1983).

As Lord Mount Stephen's favourite niece, he gave Elsie his country property known as Estevan Lodge on the Métis River. There Elsie Reford developed the property into an internationally recognized garden that became known as Jardins de Métis / Reford Gardens (Grand-Métis, Quebec).
