General note:

Aklavik is a community of Gwich'in and Inuvialuit located in the Inuvik Region of the Northwest Territories. Anne Swain visited the region to teach at the Anglican day school. Although the All Saints Anglican Residential School was not created until 1936, day schooling was already in place at this location under the Anglican Church since 1919, when the Anglican Mission was founded.
