This sub-series consists of several hundred plans dating from ca. 1851-1913 (and primarily 1890-1910) and created mostly by the Grand Trunk Railway Engineering Department. Some engineering drawings signed by E.P. Hannaford and Joesph Hobson.

There are a large number of the plans that are for Toronto from 1896-1910 and show GTR sidings used by various companies, and various sites leased by various companies from the GTR. See lower level file level descriptions for further details.

A second part of the sub-series consists of miscellaneous standard plans of switches and rails, profile and division plans, some yard plans, elevation drawings of bridges Quebec and Ontario. Some other railways listed are the North Simcoe Railway,
Toronto Grey and Bruce and Galt and Waterloo Railways, and the Midland Railway, and Port Dalhousie and Thorold Railway. Also some engineering drawings by CNR engineering department 1946-47.

Another part of the sub-series consists of drawings of sidings, of railway stations, of crossings for various locations in Southern Ontario, Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
