Accession consists of information and reference material previously held by the Transport Canada Ontario Regional Library in Toronto. The records found in this accession include a variety of internal publications produced or commissioned by Transport Canada. The majority of the records in this accession document studies relating to several Ontario airports, including Pearson International Airport, Toronto Island Airport, and Ottawa International Airport. These studies cover a wide range of subjects including, but not limited to: environmental impacts and land use; economic impacts of airports; traffic forecasts and statistics; planning and construction of airports; histories of various airports; public opinion research regarding Pearson International; weather and meteorological patterns of areas close to major airports; and ground transportation at Ottawa International Airport. Other records in this accession not related to airports include training material for Canadian Air Transportation Administration staff, studies related to the economic viability of the St. Lawrence Seaway, and studies on the future of the Toronto waterfront.

Custodial history:

These records were sent from the Transport Canada Ontario Regional Library in Toronto to Transport Canada headquarters in Ottawa, possibly as a result of the closing of the library. Headquarters subsequently returned the records to the Ontario Regional Office around 2016, who then eventually transferred the records to Library and Archives Canada.
