There are four versions (at various stages) of the novel La tournée d'automne., First version: 228-page manuscript, with deletions and substitutions, written on five pads of writing paper and marked "first draft". The pads are numbered (from "cahier 1 [book 1]" to "cahier 5 [book 5]") and are dated December 1989; mid-March 1990; July 10, 1990; October 24, 1990; and February 5, 1991, respectively. In addition, there is a sixth pad entitled "additions au premier brouillon [addenda to the first draft] / cahier 6 [book 6]"., Second version: 157-page manuscript, with deletions and substitutions, written on four pads of writing paper and marked "2e brouillon [2nd draft]". The pads are numbered (from "cahier 1 [book 1]" to "cahier 4 [book 4]"). The first is dated March 25, 1991, the second is undated, the third is dated mid-January 1992, and the fourth is dated May 6, 1992., Third version: 187-page typescript, with several deletions and substitutions as well as numerous reworded passages handwritten on additional pages or on sheets glued to the fronts and backs of the typewritten pages. There are also editorial instructions on the backs of some pages. The title page is marked "mi-octobre 1992 [mid-October 1992] / public avril 93 [public April 93]"., Fourth version: 184-page typescript dated June 11, 1993, with several deletions and substitutions as well as numerous reworded passages handwritten on sheets glued to the backs of the typewritten pages. A note states, "pour la suite... soulever ce feuillet [continued . . . please turn over]".
