This is a preliminary description, please consult the linked accessions. Series consists of sundry photographs and photographic collections that had been maintained by the National Research Council (NRC) Archives. Series consists of photographs of: the Rideau river and falls; Hull (QC); the Physical Testing Laboratories in Ottawa, before their transfer to the NRC; and various mining and smelting establishments in British Columbia.

More specifically, the series consists of: a William James Topley photograph of the west side of the Rideau Falls, Ottawa; views along the Rideau River before and after taking logs out at Rideau Falls dams, Sept. 1950, and view of same dams, Feb. 26, 1941; views of Hull, Que. from the grounds of 27 Cliff St., Ottawa, Ont.; views of some of the equipment, interiors, and exteriors of the Physical Testing Laboratories, Cliff Street and McKay Street, Ottawa; installations of the Britannia Mining and Smelting Co. at Britannia Beach, B.C.; Consolidated Mining and Smelting fertilizer plant at Warfield, B.C.; mining and smelting establishments in B.C.; photos by Hughes Bros. of Trail, B.C..
